12 Oct, 2024 News

The Ambassador, Christine Churcher, has been actively engaging with Ghanaian communities in Benin, aiming to strengthen ties and discuss important national matters. In a recent meeting with the Ghanaian community in Cotonou, the ambassador emphasized the importance of addressing their concerns collectively.

She was joined by two officials from Ghana’s New Patriotic Party (NPP) who participated in discussions and encouraged the diaspora to play a role in Ghana’s development.

With Ghana’s presidential elections set for December 7, Ms. Churcher highlighted the significance of diaspora participation, urging those already registered to vote and encouraging unregistered Ghanaians to obtain official recognition through the embassy.

She clarified that the gathering was not a political campaign but a reminder of their civic duty. Abdouramane Fousseni, one of the NPP representatives, echoed this sentiment, stating that the meeting was to listen to the diaspora’s concerns and remind them of their role in shaping Ghana’s future.
