The Embassy of Ghana in the Republic of Benin Marks Ghana’s 69th Independence Anniversary

The Embassy of Ghana in the Republic of Benin marked the 69th Independence Anniversary of the Republic of Ghana with a well-attended ceremony in Cotonou. The event was attended by a section of the Ghanaian community and Ghanaian students on a French Exchange Programme in Benin.

In his remarks, the Head of Mission, H.E Alhaji Mohammed Abubakari Manaf, highlighted the importance of Ghana’s independence, recalling the historic milestone of 6TH March, 1957. He affirmed Ghana’s continued commitment to democratic governance and called on all present to continue lifting the flag of Ghana high.

The ceremony featured the playing of the national anthems of Ghana and Benin and a cultural performance from the Agortomey Cultural Troupe from Ho, in the Volta Region of Ghana.
