The Defence Attaché of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in Benin, Col SA Yakubu paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mohammed Abubakari Manaf, Ghana’s Ambassador to the Republic of Benin, at the Embassy of Ghana in Cotonou on 22nd January 2026.
The visit was undertaken as part of efforts to strengthen cordial relations and cooperation between the two countries. The Defence Attaché formally introduced himself and conveyed greetings from the Nigerian Embassy.
Ambassador Manaf reaffirmed the long-standing friendly relations between Ghana and Nigeria and emphasized the need for continued collaboration among diplomatic missions to support peace, stability, and regional integration in West Africa.
The Defence Attaché expressed appreciation for the warm reception and reiterated Nigeria’s readiness to work closely with Ghana in advancing shared security and diplomatic interests.
The meeting concluded with both sides agreeing to maintain regular contact and explore avenues for enhanced cooperation.
